Renowned Global Pastor to Join Trump’s Second Inauguration

Rev. William F. Kumuyi, a prominent global religious leader, will be present at President-elect Donald Trump's second inauguration in Washington, D.C. next Monday.

According to the Christian Post, The event will mark a significant appearance by Kumuyi, engaging U.S. political and church leaders during his visit.

Kumuyi leads Deeper Christian Life Ministry, which is headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. Established in 1973, this church ranks as the world's third-largest Protestant denomination. Kumuyi, 83 years old, was a former mathematics professor before he fully dedicated his life to ministry.

Under Kumuyi’s leadership, the church has expanded globally, operating thousands of branches across 120 countries. It attracts about 120,000 worshippers every week, showcasing its vast influence and reach within the global Christian community.

Deeper Christian Life Ministry is not only large in numbers but also actively engages in evangelism. It has conducted crusades that reached over 6 million people and secured approximately 730,000 commitments of faith. This highlights the church's dedication to spreading its religious teachings worldwide.

Rev. Kumuyi’s Contribution to Religious Dialogue

Recently, Kumuyi has spoken out in international Christian communities. He authored an op-ed for the Christian Post, emphasizing the importance for American Christians to deepen their trust in God. This highlights his influence over religious and spiritual dialogues both locally and internationally.

During his visit to the U.S., Kumuyi is set to meet with various members of Congress and American church leaders. These meetings aim to foster dialogue on faith-based issues and ensure that religious freedoms are discussed at a governmental level.

Pastor Lorenzo Sewell’s Role at the Inauguration

Pastor Lorenzo Sewell of 180 Church in Detroit has received the honor of delivering a benediction at the inauguration. Sewell, whose church hosted President Trump for a roundtable during his campaign, is recognized for his commitment to social issues in Detroit.

"When I received the phone call [about the election], I started crying. I cried because I feel like Jesus wanted me to do something On Monday. I don't believe this is about me. I think this is about people that are hurting in Detroit," Sewell shared, highlighting the emotional significance of this opportunity.

Sewell added, "It has nothing to do with Lorenzo. It has nothing to do with my church or my relationship with President Trump. It has everything to do with those who are voiceless. Now, they get a voice," emphasizing his focus on representing marginalized groups during this significant event.

Global and Local Leaders Unite in Faith

Addressing the gathering, Kumuyi stated, "President Trump's stand for the gospel is not without recognition, not just by American Christians, but all Christians globally." He also reflected on Trump's first term, noting the administration's focus on international religious freedom.

"During his first term in office, President Trump hosted the first-ever meeting of foreign ministers focused solely on international religious freedom and, in his campaign, he promised to support Christian values and priorities," Kumuyi remarked, illustrating the president's appeal to religious communities.

Kumuyi believes this moment is pivotal for global Christian unity. "This moment in history reminds us that faith transcends borders and unites believers worldwide. As we gather in Washington, D.C., the global church stands together in prayer and purpose, advocating for faith-based dialogue to shape policies that uphold religious liberty and foster the growth of Christianity worldwide," he expressed.

The Influence of Faith on Political Platforms

Pastor Sewell, reflecting on the significance of his role, declared his intent to echo Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision during his speech. "For me, I believe that the most important thing we can proclaim and believe Jesus to proclaim over our great country is Dr. King's dream," he stated, tying his message to the broader themes of justice and equality.

International and local leaders like Kumuyi and Sewell actively participate in the ongoing dialogue between religious faith and political action. Their presence at the inauguration highlights the diverse and global dimensions of modern political events, bridging communities through shared beliefs and collective aspirations for a better world.
