Miss America 2025 Embraces Faith And Service In A Polarized World

Abbie Stockard, a 22-year-old nursing student from Alabama, recently won the title of Miss America 2025 in a ceremony held in Orlando, Florida.

Throughout her tenure, she aims to leverage her title to promote health initiatives and serve as a beacon of hope and unity, Fox News reported.

Stockard, a native of Alabama and a student at Auburn University, excels academically and shines in her extracurricular activities, including cheerleading. She has accumulated over $89,000 in tuition scholarships through three years of competing in the Miss America organization, which has allowed her to pursue her degree debt-free. Stockard focuses her studies on pediatric nursing, a field she is passionate about and plans to enter professionally.

The newly crowned Miss America overcame competition from 51 other contestants to win the prestigious title and a $50,000 tuition scholarship. Her victory made her the fourth Miss Alabama to claim the national crown.

Stockard’s Commitment to Health and Community Service

During her year-long reign, Abbie Stockard plans to continue her education while traveling the country to raise awareness and funds for crucial health issues. She will focus on supporting the American Heart Association's Go RED for Women and advancing research on cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder that affects around 40,000 people in the U.S. and 105,000 worldwide.

Before becoming Miss America, Stockard had already raised over $200,000 for cystic fibrosis research in Alabama. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation recognized her efforts, naming her "Hero of Hope" and national ambassador. She also focuses on promoting physical health and combating heart disease, the leading cause of death among women in the United States.

By emphasizing a lifestyle that includes physical activity, stress management, and adequate sleep, Stockard encourages everyone to take proactive steps toward maintaining their health. This commitment to wellness forms the central theme of her platform as Miss America.

Faith as Foundation in Stockard's Reign

In discussions about her motivations and values, Stockard frequently mentions the importance of her Christian faith. "I am very driven by my faith," she told Fox News Digital, underlining her belief in a purposeful life dedicated to service and kindness. Her spiritual perspective not only provides personal solace but also an ethical framework for her actions and goals.

Stockard's faith played a crucial role during the competition, where she focused on the principles of peace and confidence. She believes that her trust in God’s plan helped her stay calm and collected, ultimately contributing to her success. "The second word [was] confidence – confidence in the work that I’ve put in, but also confidence in His plan for my life," she explained, sharing that her favorite verse, which encourages trust in the Lord, guided her through the competition.

Reflecting further on her victory and the role of her faith, Stockard expressed her intent to use her title to spread positivity and spiritual strength across the nation. "I think our world is broken. I think it is polarized and divided, and I want to be a light," she said, emphasizing her desire to inspire and make every individual feel valued.

More Than Just a Crown

Abbie Stockard is quick to clarify that the Miss America pageant is about much more than beauty. It is a platform for empowerment, scholarship, and activism. "One of my biggest pet peeves is when people call Miss America a beauty pageant," she stated, underscoring the educational opportunities and community impact facilitated by the organization. "

The Miss America Organization itself describes the role as more than just a title but as a movement that empowers young women to dream big, assert their voices, and effect change in the world. This aligns closely with Stockard's personal vision and her career aspirations in healthcare.

As she moves forward with her reign, Stockard remains committed to her goals of health advocacy, community service, and personal empowerment. Through her actions and initiatives, she hopes to leave a lasting positive impact not just on those she directly interacts with, but also on the broader national community, demonstrating the profound influence the Miss America title can wield in motivated hands.
