Craig Morgan Discusses Faith and Patriotism in Latest EP 'American Soundtrack'

Country music star Craig Morgan has once again captured the American spirit in his latest EP, "American Soundtrack," released this February.

With themes encompassing God, family, and country, Morgan expresses a robust sense of national pride and resilience rooted in personal and collective experiences, the Christian Post reported.

Morgan’s latest album emerged amid a growing sentiment of patriotism, particularly noticed among younger demographics. He remarks on noticing this positive change, stating, “There’s a resurgence in pride in our country that we’ve not seen in — I don’t know — I’d say about four years or so.” This observation comes at a time when the nation is eager to reflect on and celebrate its foundational values.

Morgan's Military Service and Commitment to Veterans

Before his music stardom, Craig Morgan dedicated 17 years to serving in the Army and Army Reserve. His military background deeply influences his music and public life. In 2023, he re-enlisted in a heartwarming live event on the Grand Ole Opry stage, further solidifying his dedication to service.

Aside from his music and military careers, Morgan actively supports veterans through Operation Finally Home, a nonprofit that helps provide housing to wounded vets and their families. This involvement demonstrates his ongoing commitment to those who served.

Personal Tragedy and Perseverance Through Faith

Morgan has faced significant personal hardship, particularly with the tragic drowning of his 19-year-old son, Jerry, in July 2016. Reflecting on this devastating event, he shares, “I don't necessarily believe that my son's death was to make me a better person or a better Christian... I believe the devil did that.” However, he finds strength in his faith, emphasizing, “My faith is not about my relationship with someone else, and I will not subdue my faith for someone else to be comfortable.”

The Musician recently completed a global tour and is gearing up for the Friends & Heroes Tour alongside fellow country star Blake Shelton. Morgan enjoys the intimacy of theater performances where he can deeply connect with the audience. This setting, he notes, is his favorite: “My favorite is a theater, sitting in a chair or on a stool with a few musicians, telling stories and singing songs.”

An American Soundtrack: A Reflection of National Values

Morgan's "American Soundtrack" is a musical reflection of his deepest values—God, family, and country. The EP comprises songs that, in Morgan’s words, “really hits... It alludes to all of the things that I believe the majority of people in this nation celebrate.” His music serves as a homage to the resilience and values of the American people.

Besides portraying patriotic themes, the EP ties closely with Morgan's experiences, spanning both his music career and service in the Army Reserve, where he was recently promoted to Warrant Officer 1. Despite facing criticism, he remains steadfast in his beliefs. He acknowledges potential backlash but remains unswayed, stating, “It doesn't hurt my feelings that people don’t agree with me... And if I do get offended, that’s okay too. That’s part of life.”

In his candid remarks about national issues and the social climate, Morgan expresses a desire for more constructive dialogues, highlighting the importance of communication without anger: “I’d sure love to see us get back to a place where we can communicate without all the anger and hatred... I just think it’s important that we can listen to others and not hate them just because we disagree with them."

Patriotic Pride Spread Across the Nation

Craig Morgan’s emphasis on an American resurgence of pride comes at a time when unity and patriotic sentiment are increasingly valuable. Through his music and public engagements, Morgan continues to inspire a sense of pride and resilience, reflecting on his extensive international experiences to underscore the unique freedoms and stability found in the United States.

For Craig Morgan, his music, military service, and personal experiences weave together into a powerful message of faith, resilience, and patriotism, encapsulated in his latest EP, "American Soundtrack." Through his contributions to music and community, he aims to foster a renewed sense of American pride, aiming to unite the country through shared values and mutual respect.
