Prince Harry escorted out amid courtroom drama in London

A tense moment unfolded at London's High Court as Prince Harry was swiftly escorted from proceedings by his security detail after a woman vocally declared her support for the Duke of Sussex.

According to Daily Mail, the disruption occurred during a hearing about Harry's ongoing legal battle over his security arrangements, when a "diminutive, shaven-headed black woman" shouted "I support you Prince Harry" as he passed near her in the courtroom.

Security chief David Langdown and another bodyguard immediately positioned themselves between the Duke and the unidentified woman, quickly removing Harry from the situation.

The woman, who had been fidgeting with phones and a notebook throughout the proceedings, was subsequently escorted from the building by court security after telling reporters that the press was responsible for Harry's absence from England.

Royal Security Battle Takes Center Stage

Prince Harry's appearance at the High Court stems from his challenge to a February 2020 decision by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures that reduced his security level after stepping back from royal duties.

The Duke's legal team argues he was unfairly "singled out" for inferior treatment without proper protocol being followed.

His lawyer, Shaheed Fatima KC, presented arguments that the committee failed to follow its own guidelines by not commissioning a proper risk assessment from the Risk Management Board. The case has already cost British taxpayers approximately £500,000.

During the proceedings, Harry displayed visible frustration at points, reportedly throwing down his pen and making faces of disbelief as the Home Office presented its case against him.

Government Defense Against Security Claims

Sir James Eadie KC, representing the Home Office, maintained that Harry's "unusual" decision to step back from royal duties and relocate abroad justified the committee's discretionary action.

He emphasized there was nothing standard about the Duke's situation that would require following normal security assessment procedures.

The Home Office barrister stated this was not a case of unfair treatment, arguing the process actually provided advantages for the Duke. The hearing is expected to conclude with a written decision to be issued at a later date.

Fatima KC presented Harry's perspective on the security changes, stating:

On January 8 2020, (the Duke of Sussex) and his wife felt forced to step back from the role of full-time official working members of the royal family as they considered they were not being protected by the institution, but they wished to continue their duties in support of the late Queen as privately funded members of the royal family.

Royal Family Relations Under Spotlight

The Duke's court appearance occurred amid ongoing tensions with the royal family. Despite both being briefly in the United States recently, Harry did not meet with his father, King Charles, who was resting at Highgrove before departing for a state visit to Italy with Queen Camilla.

Adding to the family dynamics, Harry notably missed the wedding of one of his close friends despite being in the UK for the court proceedings. The continuing legal battle over security arrangements has reportedly created additional strain in his relationship with his father.

The case highlights the complex intersection of royal status, security concerns, and family relationships that Harry continues to navigate since relocating to California with his wife Meghan Markle.

Security Hearing Outcome Pending

Prince Harry's dramatic exit from the High Court hearing underscores the heightened tensions surrounding his legal fight for enhanced security protection while in the UK.

The incident with the vocal supporter led to swift action from his security team, resulting in both Harry and the woman being escorted from the premises.

The two-day hearing will determine whether the Duke can proceed with his challenge to the government's security decision. The outcome could significantly impact Harry's ability to visit the UK with his family, as he has expressed serious concerns about their safety without proper protection measures in place.
