Homeland Security chief Kristi Noem and advisor Corey Lewandowski share neighboring DC apartments amid affair allegations

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and her top advisor Corey Lewandowski maintain a close living arrangement in Washington D.C.'s Navy Yard neighborhood.

According to Daily Mail, the pair, both married to other people, reside in luxury rental apartments directly across from each other, with Lewandowski frequently visiting Noem's $3,750 monthly two-bedroom condo that overlooks Southeast Washington and the Anacostia River.

Their living situation has raised eyebrows among residents and political insiders. Building occupants have reported seeing the pair together in elevators and common areas.

Lewandowski's own apartment features amenities, including a lap pool, gym, and spa facilities, situated just across the street from Noem's residence, where the Secret Service maintains a 24/7 presence.

Long-standing Personal and Professional Ties Surface

One resident of Noem's building shared their observations with Daily Mail:

I've seen them together here both in the elevator and in common areas. Don't forget DC is a small town and people talk. It is an open secret that they are together. It has always been joked about that Navy Yard is a dorm for Hill Republicans and Trump staffers – now it's even higher up, with married cabinet secretaries bunking their volunteer chiefs.

The relationship between Noem and Lewandowski reportedly dates back to 2019. Their professional partnership has continued at the Department of Homeland Security, where Lewandowski serves as a special government employee in a voluntary capacity.

This arrangement allows him to maintain his private sector income while advising on personnel decisions, contracts, and international meetings.

DHS employees have taken note of Lewandowski's influence, with some referring to him as the de facto chief of staff or "shadow secretary." The actual chief of staff position remains unfilled three months into Noem's tenure. His travels with Noem have included official visits to El Salvador, Mexico, and Colombia.

Political Career Trajectory and Public Scrutiny

Noem's political rise has faced several challenges. Initially considered a potential vice presidential candidate for the 2024 election, her chances diminished after controversy erupted over her memoir's description of shooting her "untrainable" pet dog.

Nevertheless, she has emerged as a prominent face in Trump's immigration enforcement efforts, earning the nickname "ICE Barbie" for her carefully styled appearances at border facilities.

The 53-year-old secretary has maintained a public image of family unity, recently hosting her children and grandchildren in DC over Easter weekend.

That visit gained attention when her purse was stolen at a burger restaurant, resulting in the loss of her DHS access badge and apartment keys.

Complex Personal Lives Under Washington Spotlight

Noem's 33-year marriage to insurance executive Bryon has produced three children, while Lewandowski, 51, has four children with his wife Alison Hardy, whom he married in 2005.

Both maintain their respective marriages despite the reported affair that first came to light in September 2023.

A source familiar with the situation told Daily Mail:

There's no question the relationship is ongoing. They continue to travel together, they continue to socialize together. Very clearly, they're still having an extra-marital relationship.

Current Status and Future Implications

The current living arrangement in Navy Yard exemplifies the complex intersection of personal and professional relationships in Washington's political sphere.

Lewandowski's role as a special government employee, while maintaining significant influence within DHS, has drawn attention from both Republican loyalists and department staff.

Security concerns have also emerged, particularly after the recent theft of Noem's belongings containing sensitive materials. The incident highlighted the potential vulnerabilities created by their residential situation and its implications for departmental security protocols.
