Truth+ streaming service targets conservative families with alternative programming

President Donald Trump’s latest move in the media world is turning heads and creating a wave of discussion among supporters and critics alike. Conservative voices, including Trump himself, are taking on the world of streaming television with a bold new offering positioned as an alternative to mainstream entertainment.

According to Breitbart, Trump Media’s new Truth+ streaming app is now available on Roku devices. The platform is described as “family-friendly TV programming for patriotic Americans who want an alternative to woke entertainment corporations and biased news channels.”

The streaming service, which is free to download but requires account creation, promises to deliver a mix of live TV channels, documentaries, religious shows, and public-domain movies. Early offerings include news outlets like OAN, Real America’s Voice, Patriot TV, and Newsmax 2, alongside content featuring public figures such as Clint Eastwood and Elon Musk.

New Platform Targets Mainstream Media

Truth+ arrives at a time when debates over media bias, “woke” culture, and conservative censorship are at a fever pitch. Trump Media is positioning the app as a direct response to what it calls the exclusion of non-liberal voices from the entertainment space. In promotional materials, the company claims Truth+ will protect children from “getting groomed” and shield viewers from “leftist sucker punches.”

Users will find an interactive 14-day electronic guide, network DVR, instant catch-up TV for up to seven days, and on-demand content. Trump Media emphasizes that the platform is powered by proprietary infrastructure, including dedicated servers and routers, which it asserts makes Truth+ “uncancellable by Big Tech.”

Supporters of the app see this as a crucial step in providing a space for viewpoints they feel are marginalized by mainstream streaming services. Trump Media’s approach is to “curate in a way that protects viewers,” echoing long-standing concerns among conservative audiences about Hollywood and major news networks.

Critics Question Content and Reach

Not everyone is convinced by the new streaming service. Critics argue that Truth+ is entering an already saturated market and question whether it can compete with established giants like Netflix and Disney+. Some have pointed out what they see as limited content at launch and have mocked the platform’s early-stage development.

Skeptics also challenge the app’s claims of being “uncancellable,” highlighting that technology and distribution hurdles remain for new entrants—regardless of political backing. However, supporters counter that digital platforms like Roku have made it easier and more affordable for alternative voices to find a national audience.

While Trump Media touts the inclusion of well-known conservative commentators like Steve Bannon, Eric Bolling, Mike Gallegher, and Charlie Kirk, critics watch to see if the app’s promise of growth and variety will materialize over time. The company has stated that video-on-demand content will be added in the near future as user input is collected and technology is refined.

Streaming Revolution Gains Conservative Momentum

Industry observers note Truth+ is not the first attempt to create a conservative alternative to mainstream media but say the involvement of President Trump adds a new level of visibility and influence. John Nolte, writing for Breitbart, compares the app’s launch to Fox News in 1997, noting that Fox succeeded by serving an audience “the establishment was not serving.”

A central theme among Truth+ advocates is the belief that large media corporations and government regulations work together to keep startups and dissenting voices out of the entertainment industry. Nolte points to digital disruption as a game-changer, allowing “anyone, and for practically no money, to distribute content all over the world.”

For many supporters, Truth+ is seen as a crucial step in a cultural battle over the future of media. Nolte argues that the platform will improve over time, predicting it will attract creators and content “blacklisted” by Hollywood, such as Mel Gibson, Kevin Spacey, and Jon Voight.

Trump’s Media Ambitions Take Center Stage

President Trump’s Truth+ streaming app, available free on Roku, is setting out to change the media landscape by offering what it calls “non-woke, patriotic, family programs.” The new service targets viewers seeking alternatives to mainstream entertainment, promising a curated selection of news, documentaries, and classic films. With features like DVR and an interactive guide, Truth+ aims to challenge traditional media gatekeepers and provide a home for conservative voices.

Initial reactions have been mixed, with supporters applauding the move and critics questioning whether the app can match the reach and content variety of industry leaders. Trump Media says this is just the beginning and vows to expand its offerings as it gathers feedback from users.

The rollout of Truth+ marks a significant moment in President Trump’s ongoing campaign to reshape the American media landscape, with both sides watching closely to see what comes next.
