Biden’s Inner Circle Secretly Controlled White House, Book Claims

A shocking new book unveils a clandestine power structure within the Biden administration, where a tight-knit group of aides allegedly sidelined the president to run the country.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Original Sin, penned by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, exposes how a select cadre, dubbed the "politburo," made critical decisions as President Joe Biden’s cognitive health reportedly waned. This group, including senior aides and occasionally family members, operated without input from key cabinet officials.

The core players were Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti, and Bruce Reed, with Annie Tomasini and Ron Klain occasionally joining the fold. These insiders, wielding outsized influence, reportedly bypassed department heads on major policy calls. It’s a troubling glimpse into a White House where unelected aides held sway.

Trusted Aides Take Charge

Mike Donilon, a senior advisor and decades-long Biden confidant, was a linchpin in this shadow government. Described as a "true believer" in Biden, he enjoyed unparalleled trust, with aides joking he could convince the president to start a war. Such loyalty, while admirable, risks unchecked power in the wrong hands.

Steve Ricchetti, a counselor to Biden and former chief of staff during his vice presidency, controlled legislative affairs with an iron grip. His influence ensured the Politburo’s decisions shaped Congress without broader consultation. This centralization of power smells more of a clique than a collaborative administration.

Bruce Reed, another key figure, effectively served as the domestic policy adviser, steering critical decisions. One insider claimed, “Bruce Reed was the real domestic policy adviser.” When a handful of unelected aides dictate policy, democracy takes a backseat.

Family Influence Raises Eyebrows

Dr. Jill Biden and Hunter Biden were permanent fixtures in this circle of trust. Their involvement, particularly Hunter’s, sparked controversy, with some aides blaming him for the president’s rapid decline. Family loyalty is one thing, but governance by kin feels like a step too far.

Hunter’s role was particularly contentious, with Tapper calling him “demonstrably unethical” and prone to “horrible decisions.” The book suggests Hunter acted as a de facto family chief of staff, a position that invites scrutiny given his troubled past. Actions, as they say, have consequences.

“To understand Joe Biden’s deterioration, top aides told us, one has to know Hunter’s struggles,” the book notes. This claim paints a grim picture of a president leaning on a son mired in personal turmoil. It’s a dynamic that undermines confidence in leadership.

Bypassing Cabinet Expertise

The politburo’s audacity extended to making major economic decisions without consulting Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. “They would make huge economic decisions without calling [Treasury] Secretary Yellen,” an insider revealed. Such exclusion of expertise is not just arrogant—it’s reckless.

Ron Klain, another long-time Biden ally, wielded influence over policy and messaging. Biden reportedly said, “Only one person here is smarter than me, and it’s Ron.” High praise, but when a chief of staff overshadows elected officials, the balance of power tilts dangerously.

Annie Tomasini, another politburo member, recently faced scrutiny over Biden’s use of an autopen, a minor but telling controversy. When even signature duties are delegated, one wonders how much control Biden retained. It’s a small detail with big implications.

Obstructing Oversight Efforts

Government Reform Committee Chairman James Comer attempted to subpoena Tomasini and other aides, but the White House stonewalled. Refusing depositions or interviews only fuels suspicion about what this group was hiding. Transparency, it seems, was not their forte.

Former President Barack Obama reportedly expressed concerns about the “hangers-on” in Biden’s circle. His unease underscores the risks of a presidency dominated by a select few. A leader surrounded by yes-men rarely hears the truth.

Based on interviews with over 200 people, Original Sin paints a picture of a White House where five aides ran the show, with Biden as a mere “senior member of the board.” This isn’t governance—it’s a masterclass in elitism. Americans deserve better than a shadow politburo pulling the strings.
