DHS counters claims: Most ICE arrests under Trump targeted serious criminals

Anti-ICE protests erupted in Los Angeles, Newark, and San Antonio, fueled by a misleading CNN report downplaying the criminal records of unauthorized migrants arrested under President Donald Trump.

In Trump’s first 100 days, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported that 75% of those arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had criminal convictions or pending charges, Breitbart News reported.

DHS issued a sharp rebuke on Monday, correcting CNN’s claim that only a small fraction of ICE arrestees had serious criminal histories. “FAKE NEWS,” DHS declared, accusing the network of distorting the truth. A woke media narrative crumbling under scrutiny—shocker.

ICE Targets Serious Offenders

ICE operations zeroed in on dangerous criminals, including gang members, murderers, and rapists, according to DHS. The agency’s focus wasn’t random; it was a deliberate strike against those threatening public safety. Progressive talking points about “innocent migrants” don’t hold up here.

In Los Angeles, ICE arrests sparked chaos, with rioters waving Mexican flags and clashing with authorities. The National Guard had to step in to protect an ICE detention center. When protests turn to pandemonium, who’s really defending the community?

DHS released a chilling list of Los Angeles arrestees, describing them as some of the “worst” offenders. Their rap sheets included sexual battery, child molestation, second-degree murder, and assault with intent to commit rape. Hardly the “victims” protestors claim to champion.

Criminal Profiles Exposed

Eswin Uriel Castro, a previously deported unauthorized migrant, was nabbed with convictions for child molestation and possessing a dangerous weapon. His prior arrests for robbery and domestic violence paint a grim picture. Deportation didn’t reform him.

Anastacio Enrique Solis-Salinas, a Nicaraguan national, faced arrest for willful cruelty to a child, alongside convictions for domestic violence and hit-and-run. Repeat offenders like him undermine the left’s “compassionate” border policies. Actions have consequences.

Miguel Angel Palafox-Montes, who twice voluntarily returned to Mexico, was arrested with convictions for grand theft, narcotics violations, and identity theft. His history of battery and burglary arrests didn’t scream “model citizen.” Yet, some still cry foul over his detention.

Protests Spread, Tensions Rise

Anti-ICE protests weren’t confined to Los Angeles; they flared up in Newark and San Antonio. Demonstrators, fueled by CNN’s skewed reporting, decried ICE’s actions as heartless. Misinformation spreads faster than truth, doesn’t it?

DHS stood firm, reiterating that 75% of ICE arrests targeted those with criminal records or pending charges. “Secretary Noem has unleashed @ICEgov to target the worst of the worst,” DHS stated. No apologies for prioritizing safety over sentimentality.

The Economist/YouGov survey revealed that a plurality of Americans view ICE favorably, despite the loud outrage. Public support for law enforcement quietly persists, even amid progressive noise. Maybe the silent majority isn’t so silent.

Media Missteps Fuel Division

CNN’s report, now debunked, ignited a firestorm by suggesting ICE was rounding up harmless migrants. DHS’s swift correction exposed the gap between reality and media spin. Trust in legacy outlets takes another hit.

ICE’s mission, as DHS clarified, isn’t about tearing families apart but protecting communities from documented threats. The focus on criminals with serious rap sheets should be a point of unity, not division. Why does that message get lost?

As protests rage and narratives clash, the facts remain: ICE targeted dangerous offenders in Trump’s first 100 days, and DHS won’t let distortions derail that truth. Americans deserve safety, not slogans. Time to cut through the woke fog and see the real story.
