Jared Kushner's comeback fuels Gaza peace, possible Abraham Accords expansion

Jared Kushner, the quiet architect of Middle East diplomacy, has stepped back into the spotlight with a Gaza peace plan that could reshape the region, as Just the News reports.

Under President Donald Trump's leadership, a groundbreaking peace agreement to halt the war in Gaza has been negotiated, with Kushner playing a pivotal role behind the scenes, fueling optimism for an expansion of the historic Abraham Accords.

Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, made waves during the first term by brokering the Abraham Accords, a deal that normalized ties between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, setting a precedent for regional cooperation.

Kushner's return to diplomacy

His return to the political arena for this Gaza deal was a surprise, especially since he and Ivanka had previously opted out of White House roles in Trump's current administration.

Yet, senior officials have praised his efforts, acknowledging that Kushner’s behind-the-scenes work was instrumental in pushing the Gaza agreement across the finish line.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio didn’t hold back, stating, “I don't want to let this moment pass, Mr. President, with also noting the incredible work of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, they're an incredible team.”

Rubio’s nod to their grit, despite “substantial impediments,” is a reminder that real diplomacy isn’t for the faint-hearted.

Swift diplomatic wins unfold

Teaming up with Steve Witkoff, Kushner embarked on a diplomatic sprint, first meeting Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to lock in support for the peace plan.

From there, the duo pressed forward to convince the Israeli Cabinet to sign on, achieving a breakthrough that stunned observers with its speed—some had predicted an extra week of haggling.

Trump loyalists argue this success builds on the Abraham Accords’ foundation, a framework Kushner crafted, proving that economic and political integration can pave the way for peace, not just empty promises.

Overseeing peace amid fragility

Now, Kushner remains in Israel to oversee the deal’s implementation, a sign of how fragile this agreement could be if not carefully managed.

A senior U.S. official cautioned, “There’s still, you know, just a lot of ways that this can go wrong.”

They emphasized the need to monitor every detail to ensure ceasefires hold, hostages are released, and the next steps for Gaza are mapped out responsibly.

While Kushner stands ready to troubleshoot any breakdowns, he’s made it clear he won’t return as a full-time White House advisor, keeping his focus narrow and results-driven.

Balancing diplomacy with private enterprise

On a personal note, Kushner was spotted at the Western Wall with Ivanka, a quiet moment of reflection amid high-stakes negotiations, as reported by the Times of Israel.

His recent headlines weren’t just about peace talks -- his organization’s partnership with a Saudi firm to buy Electronic Arts stirred debate, with gamers split on whether it’s a win or a worrisome shift for the industry.

Still, Kushner’s ability to juggle business and diplomacy -- while staying close to key regional players -- shows why he’s a trusted hand in these talks.

That remains true, even if his past policy moves, such as sentencing reform, drew flak from some conservative corners.
