Ancient Egyptian scroll resurfaces with claims of biblical giants

A 3,300-year-old Egyptian document held by the British Museum since 1839 has drawn attention from researchers examining potential connections to biblical accounts of giants.

The text, known as Papyrus Anastasi I and dating to the 13th century BCE, was recently highlighted by the Associates for Biblical Research, a Pennsylvania-based religious organization. The scroll has prompted discussion about whether ancient Egyptian and biblical texts might reference similar historical figures or groups.

Historians note that no physical or archaeological evidence has been found to support the existence of giants as described in biblical texts. The papyrus remains one of several ancient documents that researchers continue to analyze for insights into historical narratives and their relationship to religious accounts.

Unveiling Ancient Texts and Biblical Connections

This scroll, believed to be a letter penned by a scribe, describes encounters with the Shosu people, reportedly towering at heights of four or five cubits—translating to around eight feet tall. As reported by The New York Post, the text paints them as intimidating, with phrases like “fierce of face” and hearts that are “not mild.” It’s a vivid account that aligns with scriptural hints of giant beings.

“The narrow defile is infested with Shosu concealed beneath the bushes; some of them are of four cubits or of five cubits, from head to foot, fierce of face, their heart is not mild, and they hearken not to coaxing,” the letter reads. This chilling description, originally highlighted by the Daily Mail, suggests a people so formidable that even the Israelites were struck with fear.

Biblical texts like Genesis chapter 6 bolster this narrative, speaking of the Nephilim—offspring of “fallen angels” and human women—who were giant “men of renown” causing chaos. Their wickedness supposedly led God to purge the earth with flood waters, destroying all creatures under the sky. It’s a story of divine judgment that many of us hold as a warning against moral decay.

Scriptural Giants and Historical Skepticism

Another verse, Numbers 13:33, recounts the Israelites' feeling like “grasshoppers” in the presence of these towering figures. “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight,” it states. This raw fear mirrors the Egyptian scribe’s account of the Shosu.

Yet, the academic elite remains skeptical, clinging to their mantra of “no physical proof.” They dismiss these accounts as mere myth, ignoring the possibility that ancient texts—whether Egyptian or Hebrew—could preserve kernels of truth.

Isn’t it convenient how modern historians often reject anything that challenges their neatly curated version of history? For those of us who refuse to bow to the altar of so-called progressive enlightenment, these ancient writings demand serious consideration, not eye-rolls from ivory towers.

Legends of Giants Beyond Egypt

The story doesn’t stop with Egypt—separate claims of “supersized humans” emerge from Central America and a remote town 90 miles northeast of Reno, Nevada. Reports of miners uncovering 60 skeletons, some measuring between seven and eight feet tall, describe these alleged giants as redheaded and pale-skinned. Though many label this as legend, it’s another thread in a tapestry of ancient anomalies.

Why are we so quick to scoff at these findings? In a culture obsessed with tearing down tradition, perhaps it’s time to stop assuming our ancestors were just spinning tall tales and start asking if we’ve lost something vital in our rush to “modernize.”

These accounts, whether from a dusty Egyptian scroll or Nevada’s rugged terrain, challenge the sanitized history peddled by today’s academic gatekeepers. They suggest a world where the extraordinary wasn’t just possible—it was documented by those who lived it.

What’s Next for Ancient Truths?

For believers and skeptics alike, the resurfacing of Papyrus Anastasi I is a reminder that history isn’t always what it seems. The Associates for Biblical Research deserve credit for pushing this conversation forward, refusing to let ancient voices be silenced by today’s dogma.

What happens next is anyone’s guess, but one thing is clear: as long as there are those willing to dig into the past without preconceived notions, stories like these will keep surfacing.

Let’s hope they inspire more to question the narrative and seek the truths that have been buried under layers of dismissive scholarship.
