Boy revived after pool accident says he saw God and his late uncle
What began as a July 4th celebration at a Louisiana resort nearly turned tragic when a six-year-old boy named DJ fell into a pool and had to be revived by his family.
After being pulled unconscious from the water and revived through CPR, DJ later told his family he had a vision of God and his deceased uncle, a revelation that has deeply moved his loved ones and captivated thousands online, Breitbart reported.
DJ and his family were spending the Independence Day holiday at the Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville, Louisiana. The day was supposed to be one of relaxation, but it quickly shifted to panic when DJ, who was usually afraid of water, slipped into the resort’s pool. He had been sitting with his feet in the water when he accidentally fell in.
His mother, Krista Parker, and stepfather reacted immediately. They rushed to pull DJ from the water and began administering CPR alongside expressions of urgent prayer. Parker, crying out in desperation, prayed, “Lord, cover my baby with your blood in the name of Jesus. Lord, please give me my baby back.”
As CPR continued, Parker and her husband feared they were losing him. DJ’s mouth expelled water, his eyes were red and motionless, and he wasn’t responding. The atmosphere was tense as bystanders and family struggled to help until emergency responders could arrive on the scene.
Family’s Faith Strengthened by Child’s Words
Moments later, DJ vomited and let out a cry—signs that he was still alive. Paramedics arrived shortly after and took over care. The family would later learn that DJ had only inhaled a small amount of water into his lungs, making a full recovery possible.
Krista Parker said the emotional toll of the moment was overwhelming. “It’s every parent’s nightmare,” she later shared, expressing both gratitude and lingering guilt about not securing a life vest on her son that day. In hindsight, she now encourages other parents to learn CPR and ensure children wear appropriate water safety gear.
In the hours that followed, DJ shared a startling account. He told a nurse and later repeated to his family that he had seen “God and uncle Quimaine” during his near-death experience. DJ reportedly told his parents, “No, Daddy, no momma. God is real. I saw him. I saw him and Uncle Quimaine.”
Online Community Reacts to the Testimony
Krista recounted her son's description of what he saw. According to her, DJ said God appeared to be made of all colors. For her, the message was one of divine unity and compassion. “We need to love one another and be a unit, and God is real. Get closer to God. You seek him, you shall receive,” she said.
The story quickly spread online, shared by those inspired by DJ’s experience. Social media responses ranged from emotional to spiritual reflections. “Glory to God Most High! God is real. What a powerful testimony!” one user wrote.
Others offered similar gratitude and spiritual affirmation. Another commenter said, “God is so good. Thank you, Lord, for returning this child.” One person simply wrote, “Wow, what a beautiful story,” echoing many people’s admiration for the moment and relief about DJ’s safety.
Importance of Water Safety and CPR Emphasized
Parker hopes her family’s story will prompt more awareness about child safety in pools. She now urges parents and caregivers to be CPR certified and not assume that a child sitting at the edge of a pool is safe. DJ's fear of water, she added, had always seemed to prevent such an incident until that day.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes that drowning can happen suddenly and without warning. They recommend formal swim training for children as an effective way to reduce the risk. Parker has echoed this advice, saying she plans to enroll DJ in swim lessons as soon as possible.
As for DJ, he continues to recover fully from the traumatic event and resume life as a typical six-year-old. His family says he refers back to the incident, but he shows no signs of lasting physical harm. Emotionally, they say, he seems both grounded and reflective.
Perspective and Healing After a Close Call
This experience has left an indelible mark on the Parker family. For Krista Parker, the moment brought both terror and transformation. Her son’s survival, coupled with his unique claim, has reignited her own spiritual beliefs and led her to become a more vocal advocate for water safety.
“What happened to DJ wasn’t just about surviving,” Parker said. “It was about something deeper. A reminder to be vigilant, yes—but also to believe in something beyond ourselves.”
In the days since, Parker has taken to social media to thank everyone who supported their family with prayers and kind messages. She says her son's words—spoken so confidently in the aftermath—continually remind her that life and faith can intersect in unexpected ways.
