David Weiss might charge Hunter Biden with tax crimes
The Biden family faces another challenge as Hunter Biden may soon be charged with tax crimes in California.
Recent reports suggest that Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, might be facing additional legal troubles.
Specifically, he could be charged with tax crimes in California.
Details of the potential charges
Last week, special counsel David Weiss filed firearms-related offenses against Hunter Biden in Delaware.
While these charges were specific to firearm offenses, there were no charges related to tax or FARA violations. However, the story doesn't end there.
It's been reported that David Weiss might soon file a new indictment against Hunter Biden in another federal court.
This could possibly be in California. The charges? Alleged tax crimes discovered during a review of his finances from 2014 to 2019.
ABC News has also hinted that the gun charges might not be the last legal hurdle for Hunter Biden, Breitbart reported.
IRS whistleblowers raise concerns
Earlier in June, IRS whistleblower Joseph Ziegler claimed that Hunter Biden received money from Burisma Holdings through a Chinese firm linked to the Biden family business.
Instead of declaring this money as income and paying the necessary taxes, it's alleged that the Chinese firm loaned the money to Hunter.
Another IRS whistleblower, Gary Shapley, informed Congress that Hunter Biden failed to pay $125,000 in taxes. This was for income he received from Burisma. He said:
Rosemont Seneca Bohai was set up to hold the equity of BHR, which is Bohai Harvest Rosemont Partners or some — Equity Partners, I believe, which was a — which was a private equity fund that was started between Harvest, which is like the — I would say like the Fidelity of China. Bohai Sea Industrial Fund, which is a — which was like a government-owned private equity fund that wanted to go private. So basically, the three letters of the acronym, Bohai Harvest Rosemont.
Connections to Chinese investment funds
In his testimony, Devon Archer, a close business associate of Hunter Biden, partially confirmed the IRS whistleblower's claims. He mentioned that the money Hunter received from his board position was sent to Bohai Harvest Rosemont (BHR), a Chinese state-backed investment fund.
Kevin Morris, who is Hunter Biden's lawyer, controls an entity that has a ten percent stake in BHR Partners.
This Chinese state-backed investment fund was established shortly after Hunter and Joe Biden's visit to China in 2013.
Interestingly, Devon Archer's wife, Krista Archer, also has a ten percent stake in a similar Chinese-state-backed investment fund.
Public opinion on the Biden family's business deals
A recent survey by CNN revealed some intriguing insights. 61% of Americans believe that President Joe Biden was involved in his family's business transactions with China and Ukraine.
Only 38% believe he wasn't involved, and a mere 1% think he was involved but did nothing wrong.
It's evident that the Biden family, especially Hunter Biden, is under intense scrutiny. With potential tax crime charges looming, the coming days will be crucial in determining the course of this narrative.
