Diddy's ex-girlfriend's testimony raises doubts in trial
Shocking claims from Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former partner took center stage in the rapper’s high-profile sex trafficking and racketeering trial.
As reported by Fox News Digital, the witness, identified only as “Jane,” wrapped up her testimony on June 13 after a week of dramatic disclosures. She testified under a pseudonym about her 2021–2024 relationship with Combs.
Jane described a series of so-called “hotel nights” during which she was allegedly compelled to have sex with male escorts while Combs observed. She said these encounters formed a disturbing pattern of control that prosecutors argue supports RICO charges.
Defense highlights potential juror confusion
Defense attorney John W. Day told Fox News Digital that Jane’s testimony “could have been puzzling to the jury,” noting she painted a complex picture of intimidation and financial leverage. He pointed out her own words that she felt like a “sex worker in my own relationship,” suggesting she saw coercion at play.
Day added that while Jane’s narrative helped illustrate Combs’ alleged dominance, it also raised questions about why she participated. “The jury may still feel conflicted about her continued engagement in those acts,” he said, arguing the testimony “cuts both ways.”
Los Angeles litigator John J. Perlstein observed that Combs’ conduct itself was not in dispute, only whether it rose to the level of a crime. He noted prosecutors depicted his wealth as a tool for coercion, whereas the defense framed the encounters as consensual and part of a lavish lifestyle.
Reactions to public assault video
Jane testified that she witnessed Combs’ team scramble after surveillance footage of his alleged assault on ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura went public in May 2024. She said family and advisers convened at Combs’ home to craft a damage-control strategy.
Prior to the video’s release, Jane said she had not experienced violence from Combs. According to her, the first physical altercation occurred in June 2024, shortly after news of the Ventura incident dominated headlines.
In her account, Combs kicked in the door of her residence and chased her through multiple rooms after she confronted him about another woman. She said the struggle turned physical when he allegedly punched and choked her.
Details of the longest ‘hotel night’
Jane recounted that her most harrowing “hotel night” spanned three days over New Year’s 2022 and involved encounters with three different men. She told jurors she confronted Combs afterward about taking another woman on vacation while she tended to medical appointments and work obligations.
Reading from her own texts, Jane challenged Combs: “You completely had your way ... then send me home to worry about a doctor’s visit.” She said his response left her feeling exploited and reminded her she was “not a sex robot, porn star or animal.”
Defense experts warn jurors could view Jane as scorned and driven by revenge rather than truth. Day said relatable emotional testimony can prompt skepticism over a witness’s motives, potentially harming the prosecution’s case.
Evidence of coercion and ongoing support
Former prosecutor Neama Rahmani highlighted emails and audio in which Jane asked escorts to wear condoms, only for Combs to override her wishes. She called this “evidence of force and coercion” that underpins trafficking allegations.
Rahmani also noted testimony from a Homeland Security investigator about drugs, firearms and more than a thousand bottles of lubricant seized at Combs’ Los Angeles residence. One escort sold a sex tape to a major media outlet, she testified.
Surprisingly, Jane revealed that Combs continues covering her legal fees and rent despite her cooperation. Day suggested jurors might question whether such arrangements influence her testimony and undermine her credibility.
