Former vice presidential candidate embraces Christianity

Nicole Shanahan's recent conversion to Christianity marks a profound shift from a decade-long commitment to Judaism.

In a deeply personal ceremony at her home in Atherton, California, Nicole Shanahan was baptized, signaling her new spiritual journey, the Christian Post reported.

Nicole Shanahan, widely recognized for her political partnership with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during the 2024 presidential race, has made a significant personal change. After practicing Judaism since 2014, she converted to Christianity in January 2025.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. initially chose Shanahan as his vice presidential running mate. Although Kennedy later dropped out of the race and endorsed then-President Donald Trump, their ticket still earned over 750,000 votes across several state ballots.

She shared details of her spiritual transformation in a post on X titled "My Baptism Story," published earlier this week. Shanahan explained that her Christian journey began in September 2024, after experiencing a devastating personal loss that she chooses not to discuss in detail.

Unexpected Encounter Leads to Spiritual Rebirth

Shanahan’s conversion began when her masseuse introduced her to Diane Robinson, a spiritual guide. Robinson and her husband, Peter—both religious leaders with the titles of bishop and apostle—played crucial roles in baptizing Shanahan.

Shanahan described her spiritual awakening, revealing that an overwhelming sense of heaviness and a spontaneous prayer during her daughter's night terror became pivotal moments. She experienced this in January while struggling with her spiritual beliefs.

"Diane looked at me and said with absolute certainty that Jesus could save me—that His blood can wash away sins and defeat the darkness that haunts the innocent," Shanahan recalled, quoting her spiritual guide.

Baptism Event Marks New Faith Journey

Shanahan held her baptism in her backyard on January 19, 2025, just days before President Trump’s inauguration. The intimate and profound ceremony involved Shanahan and her husband, Jacob, fully immersing themselves in their swimming pool as the Robinsons witnessed the event.

During the ceremony, Diane Robinson read scripture to Shanahan from a well-worn Bible, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her life. Shanahan has since shifted her spiritual practices, now directing her prayers toward Jesus. She described the experience as feeling "wrapped in a warm cocoon while becoming a grounded, weighted, immovable obelisk."

Her spiritual awakening has also given her a clearer vision of the world’s spiritual pain. She now views her faith as both a source of warmth and strength, profoundly shaping her worldview and personal resilience.

Personal Challenges and Political Insights

Shanahan grew up facing personal adversities, including having a father who struggled with alcohol addiction and mental health issues. Her run for vice-presidential office brought new perspectives on life and the spiritual battles many face.

"Many people shy away from acknowledging the reality of spiritual warfare," mentioned Shanahan. She believes her newfound faith provides a framework to fight these battles, affirming, "Jesus is our covenant with God to fight them [demons]."

Shanahan's last sentence in her personal story referenced a Latin phrase from the Bible, "Nisi Dominus aedificaverit domum, in vanum laboraveunta qui aedificant eam," reflecting her reliance on divine guidance. This translates to "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it."

Encouraging Others on Their Spiritual Quest

Concluding her public reflection, Shanahan emphasized the importance of perseverance in seeking spiritual truth. "Faith is not about having all the answers but about trusting in the One who does. And when you find Him, you will know you are finally home," she writes, encouraging others to explore their faith journeys.

This transformation presents Shanahan not only as a former political figure but as an individual deeply engaged in her personal and spiritual development. Her story offers insight into the profound impact of faith and spirituality, transcending beyond public life into personal revelation and growth.

As Nicole Shanahan continues her journey, she invites others to explore the depths of their beliefs, fostering a community of seekers and believers alike in the pursuit of spiritual understanding and truth.
