G3 Ministries President Josh Buice steps down amid slander allegations
Josh Buice, a prominent figure at G3 Ministries and Pray’s Mill Baptist Church, has resigned from his leadership roles after admitting to slandering fellow Christian leaders through anonymous digital platforms.
According to the Christian Post, Josh Buice’s resignation as president of G3 Ministries follows his confession to creating and using anonymous accounts for slander, leading to the cancellation of a major religious conference.
Buice, who also serves as an elder at Pray’s Mill Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia, faced allegations that he operated multiple untraceable social media and email accounts. His resignation has shaken the evangelical community.
Authorities confirmed the initial suspicions on May 4, 2025, when they confronted Buice with incontrovertible evidence linking him to at least four anonymous social media profiles, two email accounts, and two Substack publications.
Although church elders had confronted Buice several times over the past two years—and he consistently denied any wrongdoing—they finally presented detailed evidence that prompted him to confess.
Impact of Slander on Community and Resignation Decision
After Buice confessed, the G3 Ministries’ board officially accepted his resignation on May 8. The board expressed dismay at the revelations and their impact on the Christian community.
Church elders stated, "These actions were not only sinful in nature but deeply divisive, causing unnecessary suspicion and strife within the body of Christ, and particularly within the eldership of PMBC."
The church emphasized that Buice’s divisive actions promoted disunity and distrust among members, damaging the community's overall cohesion.
The revelations triggered immediate and severe fallout. Organizers abruptly canceled the planned G3 National Conference, which was scheduled for September 11–13, 2025, in Atlanta.
This decision created significant logistical and financial consequences. The organizers began issuing refunds to all registrants, exhibitors, and publishers who had committed to the event.
Community Reactions and Future Directions
In response to these events, Justin Peters of Justin Peters Ministries expressed his heartbreak over the situation: “This is heartbreaking and truly hard to understand. Sin has such devastating consequences, not only to ourselves but to many others."
In contrast, Jennifer Greenberg offered a critical perspective, commenting on the broader issues of power dynamics involved: “Genuinely unimpressed by this. What I am saying is he’s not a unique offender. Josh Buice hurt the fragile feelings of men in power. This has nothing to do with sin and everything to do with ego and hierarchy,” explained Greenberg.
As the community grapples with the aftermath of this controversy, G3 Ministries announced plans to continue its other initiatives, such as G3+, G3 Press, and the G3 Student Retreat. They emphasized the importance of stepping away from a celebrity-focused culture in evangelicalism, which may have contributed to the issues faced.
Buice, on his part, has committed to seeking forgiveness from those he harmed. "Since then, Josh has acknowledged his sin, expressed sorrow, and asked for forgiveness. He desires to personally ask forgiveness of every person he has slandered or lied to," stated PMBC’s release.
Lessons and Reflections from the Church Leadership Crisis
The incident has prompted leaders and members of Pray’s Mill Baptist Church to reflect more broadly on their direction and accountability. The church had already separated from the Southern Baptist Convention in 2022 after doctrinal and cultural disagreements, a move that underscored persistent challenges within larger religious organizations.
As the church and its associated ministries move forward, the community watches closely and hopes that this situation will inspire a serious reevaluation of values and practices to prevent similar issues in the future.
This case will undoubtedly warn others about the ethical use of social media and reinforce the need for transparency and integrity in religious leadership.
