One woman's path through spiritual darkness reveals a powerful transformation

I Wanted You Dead: Woman's terrifying New Age experience leads to lasting change through faith

Priscilla Blanchard thought she had found healing through New Age practices—until her search for inner peace instead led her into spiritual confusion and fear.

According to CBN, her journey from childhood trauma to occult rituals, and ultimately to faith in Jesus, involved emotional battles, supernatural experiences, and a life-changing decision in a hospital room.

Blanchard shared her story on the podcast "No Longer Nomads," recounting how difficult early experiences shaped her longing for meaning. She described a troubled childhood marked by abuse, which left her desperate for answers and validation as an adult.

While serving in a social justice program with AmeriCorps, she said that her instructors encouraged her to view all religious beliefs as equally valid. This message opened the door for further exploration into Eastern spirituality and more obscure belief systems.

Later, a suggestion from an old boss led her to a “life coaching” program that she would later describe as manipulative and spiritually misleading. She said the program was a doorway into New Age ideologies that emphasized inner power, “manifesting,” and denying traditional religious truth.

Rituals and Red Flags in New Age Coaching

Blanchard recounted that at one point, the coaching program included a striking ritual in which participants were lifted into the air in a cruciform pose, while leaders dressed in black. She now describes the event as deeply unsettling and “satanic” in nature.

The practices and language used in the program, she explained, bore similarities to beliefs popularized by celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and authors such as Deepak Chopra. Concepts like mindfulness, energy healing, and spiritual alignment became central to her daily life.

Initially, Blanchard found these ideas captivating and empowering. But as time passed, she became increasingly aware that the teachings were not leading to genuine peace. Instead, she felt entangled in what she later described as a “spider web of lies.”

Dark Experiences and a Warning From Beyond

Her deeper immersion into New Age beliefs introduced her to ideas such as past-life regression and the concept of “twin souls”—the idea that two individuals are eternally connected across lifetimes. This belief became central to her worldview after she met a man she believed was her spiritual twin.

Tragedy struck when he died unexpectedly. In her grief, Blanchard turned to necromancy, attempting to communicate with him through spiritual means. She said this decision amplified her torment, leading her deeper into spiritual darkness and emotional instability.

The most disturbing moment, Blanchard recalled, came when her roommate appeared to speak with a different voice, saying: “I wanted you dead.” She believed this was the voice of a demon, and the experience left her shaken.

The Turning Point: A Hospital and a New Beginning

At her lowest point, Blanchard found herself in a hospital room where she experienced what she says was the presence of Jesus. It was there that she claims to have found clarity and relief from the emotional and spiritual anguish that had consumed her.

She began reading the Bible for hours at a time, seeking understanding and truth. As she continued, Blanchard said she experienced peace unlike anything she'd felt during her time in the New Age movement.

“It felt like the truth. But it was a trap,” she said of her previous beliefs. The contrast, she noted, between her old practices and the teachings of the Bible became clearer each day.

A Message of Caution and Redemption

Since her transformation, Blanchard has dedicated herself to warning others about what she sees as misleading or dangerous aspects of New Age spirituality. Her message centers on encouraging people to carefully examine what they believe and why.

She believes that many seeking healing or enlightenment can be unknowingly pulled into practices that lead to confusion, fear, or worse. Her story serves as a cautionary tale for those curious about spiritual teachings outside traditional faith systems.

Today, Blanchard focuses on sharing her experience publicly in hopes of helping others find what she describes as true spiritual freedom. Through her testimony, she aims to show that even from the darkest moments, transformation is possible.
