Rep. Jackson accuses Biden’s former doctor of misconduct
Rep. Ronny Jackson has accused President Joe Biden’s former physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, of engaging in sexually inappropriate actions during his time at the White House.
According to the Christian Post, Jackson claims O’Connor’s alleged behavior created discomfort among colleagues and implies the Biden family turned a blind eye, as Congress prepares to question O’Connor on the president’s medical transparency.
Jackson, a Republican congressman from Texas and previously a White House physician under three administrations, made the accusations during an interview with The Daily Caller. Jackson joined the White House Medical Unit under President George W. Bush and served until 2018.
According to Jackson, O’Connor displayed a pattern of behavior that he described as both unprofessional and troubling. Jackson claimed that O’Connor engaged in several acts he found inappropriate, particularly toward women working within or visiting the White House.
One example Jackson offered involved a recurring prank where O’Connor would allegedly ask people he had just met for their phones. After receiving them, according to Jackson, O’Connor would place the phones in his groin area before returning them.
Details Emerge of Alleged White House Behavior
Jackson described O’Connor’s behavior as juvenile and said it made others feel extremely uncomfortable. “This is like something you would see a 12-year-old boy do,” Jackson told The Daily Caller, adding that the people involved were usually stunned and unsure how to respond.
He further alleged that O’Connor often made comments of a sexual nature to women and that this type of conduct was known but tolerated by some in positions of influence. Jackson suggested that the Biden family, particularly President Biden, approved of or found humor in such behavior.
“And of course the Bidens loved it,” Jackson said. “Joe Biden probably is cut from the same cloth in that regard.” He noted that this atmosphere discouraged him from removing O’Connor during his tenure.
Jackson Recounts Pressure to Retain O’Connor
Despite what he described as troubling behavior, Jackson said he decided against taking disciplinary action against O’Connor because of expected political repercussions. He claimed that letting O’Connor go could have invited criticism or retaliation from both the Obama and Biden families.
“I didn’t get rid of him because I knew it would be an exercise in futility,” Jackson said. He continued by describing the pressure he anticipated from high-ranking officials, including President Obama, to reinstate O’Connor if he had been dismissed.
“If I had gotten rid of him, it was made very clear to me that I would be immediately getting a phone call from President Obama,” Jackson said. He claimed the message would have been that Joe Biden was unhappy and that O’Connor must remain in place.
Past Roles and Current Oversight Scrutiny
Dr. O’Connor was Joe Biden’s physician before he became president and continued in that role when Biden took office in January 2021. He served as the official White House physician until March 2025.
During Biden’s vice presidency, Jackson said he was involved in approving reports authored by O’Connor. Their professional overlap extended into Jackson's service as White House physician, giving him extensive firsthand contact with O’Connor’s work and behavior.
O’Connor is now also facing congressional scrutiny unrelated to Jackson’s claims. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., has issued a subpoena requiring O’Connor to testify on June 27 about his handling and communication of President Biden’s mental and physical health.
Biden’s Past Allegations and Current Investigations
The credibility of Biden’s medical evaluations has come under question as the president seeks re-election. Republicans have turned their attention to whether O’Connor may have played a role in minimizing or concealing any signs of mental decline during Biden’s term.
This testimony from O’Connor could be a pivotal moment in an ongoing push by House Republicans to examine what they believe may be a pattern of withheld medical details. A hearing focused on potential misrepresentation puts renewed focus on O’Connor’s conduct in both his medical and professional capacities.
Beyond Jackson’s allegations against O’Connor, President Biden himself has faced past accusations. Former Senate staffer Tara Reade publicly accused him in 2020 of sexual assault dating back to 1993, an allegation Biden has denied.
No Public Response from O’Connor or Legal Team
Attorneys for Dr. O’Connor have reportedly declined to comment on the claims made by Jackson. No official statement has been issued by O’Connor or representatives of the Biden family about the specific allegations discussed in The Daily Caller interview.
It remains unclear how the White House intends to address the renewed attention on O’Connor’s professional conduct. The former physician is expected to appear for questioning later this month, where further inquiry into both his behavior and his role in evaluating Biden’s health may come under the spotlight.
