Rep. Waltz Questions Lone-Wolf Narrative In Trump Assassination Attempt

Rep. Mike Waltz has expressed doubts about whether Thomas Matthew Crooks acted alone in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Waltz raised concerns about the rushed conclusions by federal agencies.

The congressman, who is part of the House Task Force investigating the shooting, highlighted several unanswered questions and the potential involvement of foreign entities.

Crooks, a 20-year-old man, opened fire at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, killing one attendee and critically injuring two others.

Trump himself was grazed by a bullet on his right ear. Crooks was shot dead by Secret Service agents on the scene. The FBI and other federal agencies are currently investigating the incident, but Waltz remains skeptical about the official narrative.

Unanswered Questions and Foreign Encryption

Waltz pointed out that Crooks had multiple foreign encrypted messaging accounts, which raises questions about his communications and potential connections.

The congressman is concerned that federal law enforcement agencies may have prematurely concluded that Crooks acted alone.

I don't understand, and I don't have any answers yet to help me understand how the [Secret] Service and DHS came out so quickly and said – and I think the FBI as well, but I'll have to check that – and said, he operated alone. How do you know that mere days into your investigation?

Waltz also noted that Crooks was able to create multiple explosives with remote detonators, which he finds unusual for someone of his age. He believes that the complexity of the devices suggests possible assistance from outside sources.

Iranian and Pakistani Plots

The congressman also emphasized the significance of ongoing threats against Trump from foreign nations. He mentioned that Iran had been plotting an attempt on the former president's life around the same time as the Crooks incident.

Additionally, a Pakistani national was arrested for making a down payment to hire hitmen to assassinate Trump.

The more we get into it, the more questions I have. It's really what's coming out around it that is so disturbing. And for me, the thing that's most disturbing is that we have ongoing plots from Iran to take out a former president, leading candidate, and that a Pakistani national was just arrested after making a down payment for hitmen, and it's barely even being covered in the news.

Waltz believes that these developments underscore the need for a thorough investigation into any possible foreign involvement in the assassination attempt.

Investigation and Briefing

Waltz and other members of the House Task Force are scrutinizing the Secret Service's handling of the incident.

The congressman is expected to attend a briefing by the FBI, where he hopes to gain more insights into the investigation. He remains critical of the agencies' initial conclusions and the lack of information about Crooks' encrypted communications.

Waltz is determined to uncover the truth about the assassination attempt and ensure that all potential leads are thoroughly examined.

Conclusion

Rep. Mike Waltz has raised serious concerns about the investigation into the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. He questions whether the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, acted alone and points to the existence of foreign encrypted messaging accounts and ongoing threats from nations like Iran and Pakistan.

Waltz believes that federal agencies may have rushed to conclude that Crooks acted alone without fully exploring all possibilities. As the investigation continues, Waltz and other members of the House Task Force are pressing for a more comprehensive examination of the incident.
