Tim Tebow and Demi-Leigh share baby joy with name reveal

Tim Tebow and Demi-Leigh Tebow are officially parents, announcing the arrival of their first child, a daughter named Daphne Reign Tebow, in an emotional and heartfelt social media post on Sunday, July 6.

The couple shared that the name carries deep significance drawn from family ties and their spiritual beliefs, calling their newborn a blessing and answered prayer, The Christian Post reported.

Tim and Demi-Leigh, who got married in January 2020 after first meeting in 2018, had publicly revealed their pregnancy earlier this year in January. The announcement was greeted with excitement as they entered what they called a new and joyful chapter in their life together.

Family Tribute Behind the Name Daphne

The name Daphne holds a particularly emotional meaning for Demi-Leigh, who grew up admiring her great-aunt, also named Daphne, from whom her daughter now takes her name. Demi-Leigh describes her late relative as someone who filled the grandmother role in her life and exemplified kindness, strength, and grace.

“I never got to meet my mom’s mother,” Demi-Leigh explained in her announcement, “but her sister, Daphne, stepped in as a grandma figure to me.” She reflected fondly on childhood memories of her “Ouma Daphne,” a South African woman who offered warmth, hospitality, and spiritual guidance.

According to Demi-Leigh, she had dreamed of naming her daughter after her great-aunt since childhood and shared that desire with Tim soon after their wedding. To her delight, Tim loved the name just as much, and they agreed on it years before their daughter’s birth.

Spiritual Meaning Tied to ‘Reign’

The baby’s middle name, Reign, also reflects the couple’s spiritual convictions and is inspired by a young girl whose life story made a lasting impression on them. Demi-Leigh said the girl had deeply touched both their hearts in ways words could hardly express.

She explained that the name “Reign” serves as a symbolic reminder of being part of God's family and encourages a life grounded in love, purpose, and identity rather than influence or status. “You become a child of the King,” Demi-Leigh shared, referencing their Christian beliefs, “made to rule and reign in purpose.”

In her announcement post, Demi-Leigh called their daughter “created in the image of God” and described her as “royalty as His princess.” She said their greatest hope is that Daphne Reign will walk faithfully in the path that God has for her life.

A Moment of Gratitude and Joy

As they celebrated the newborn’s arrival, Demi-Leigh expressed sincere thanks to the healthcare workers involved in her labor and delivery. “We are so thankful for you,” she wrote in appreciation addressed to their doctor, nurses, and hospital staff.

The couple’s announcement was met with enthusiasm and support from fans and followers on social media, where they first shared the joyful news. Demi-Leigh wrote, “Our daughter is here! We couldn’t be more grateful for the blessing and gift of this new little life.”

She also added, “We are so incredibly thankful for all of the love and support we’ve felt,” underscoring the outpouring of warmth they’ve received in the days following Daphne Reign’s birth.

Longstanding Commitment to Family and Service

Tim and Demi-Leigh have long expressed their dedication to family and faith-based service, values that have played a central role in their public lives. Through the Tim Tebow Foundation, the couple has advanced causes close to their hearts, including care for individuals with special needs and anti-human trafficking efforts.

Among their most well-known initiatives is “Night to Shine,” a prom night created for people with special needs. Tim has previously said that their work is driven by a belief in the dignity and worth of every individual, especially those facing difficult circumstances.

In an earlier interview, Tim emphasized the urgency of helping those he described as being in their “darkest hour of need.” His comments reflect a consistent message of compassion and advocacy that the couple now carries into their journey as parents.

Looking Forward to Parenthood

Back in January, when Tim and Demi-Leigh first announced that they were expecting, the couple expressed genuine joy about entering parenthood. Demi-Leigh called it a moment they were “so excited and over the moon” about.

During the same period, Tim said that becoming a father was both a privilege and a serious responsibility, sharing how honored he felt about stepping into this new role with his wife. Their shared enthusiasm was matched by a determination to raise their daughter with strong values and purpose.

“So here she is — our daughter. Our answered prayer,” Demi-Leigh wrote emotionally as she introduced Daphne Reign Tebow to the world, marking the beginning of a new season for the couple, now as a family of three.
