Trump brings Giuliani and Levin onto Homeland Security advisory team

President Donald Trump has once again turned heads by naming familiar MAGA figures Rudy Giuliani and Mark Levin to his revamped Homeland Security Advisory Council.

According to TAG24 News, Trump and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem tapped 22 new members for the council, clearly signaling a return to the America First doctrine on matters of national security.

The announcement came via a DHS press release listing the new members who will convene on July 2. Among them are some of the most vocal and enduring supporters of Trump's policies, including his former lawyer, Giuliani, and conservative commentator Levin.

Giuliani And Levin Back In The Spotlight

Giuliani and Levin, both lightning rods in political discourse, played prominent roles in contesting the results of the 2020 election. Their inclusion on the advisory panel shows Trump isn’t about to distance himself from those who stood by him in his most embattled moments.

While critics might roll their eyes, there's no denying Giuliani’s decades-long background in law enforcement and Levin’s constitutional scholarship. These appointments look more like a strategic play than a political favor.

The Homeland Security Advisory Council, first launched in 2002 under President George W. Bush, is designed to offer independent advice rooted in real-world experience. Under Trump’s administration, “independent” seems to mean unflinchingly loyal to a secure border and rule of law.

DHS Emphasizes Private And Public Sector Strength

The DHS described the council’s mission as harnessing both public and private sector insights to inform homeland operations. The newly retooled council, they said, will help implement the president’s homeland security priorities with “real-time, real-world” advice.

That’s bureaucratic-speak for “we’re done listening to people who see border walls as offensive architecture.” In the new America First HSAC, ideological clarity takes center stage over bureaucratic ambiguity.

Trump’s administration made a clean sweep earlier this year, removing the prior members of the council and citing their alleged "misuse of resources." That left plenty of room for allies with aligned priorities to step in.

A Cast Of Unapologetic Trump Loyalists

Joining Giuliani and Levin are other prominent figures from Trump’s orbit, including Bikers for Trump founder Chris Cox and Noem’s longtime advisor Corey Lewandowski. It’s a coalition that doesn't mind a little noise if it means getting results.

Critics may see the group as a political stunt, but its members bring a mix of grassroots energy and Beltway know-how. Say what you will about them, but these appointees know how to grab attention and stay on message.

The move also reinforces Trump’s governing philosophy—surrounding himself with people who won’t flinch at controversy if they believe it serves the greater American interest.

From Controversy To Council

Both Giuliani and Levin have weathered their fair share of media storms. Yet their core message—security, sovereignty, and constitutional fidelity—still resonates deeply with a sizable part of the American public.

Even after years of attacks from political opponents and media pundits, they’ve remained influential voices in the conservative movement. Their presence on the council ensures those voices won't be sidelined in shaping security policy.

This isn’t just a symbolic gesture. Trump clearly believes their input will help fortify America against both physical threats and ideological drift.
