Two undocumented individuals charged in Maryland forest murder
A mother of two from Guatemala was reported missing by her boyfriend in Charles County, Maryland, sparking a multi-agency search operation that ended in tragedy.
According to Breitbart, Lesbia Mileth Ramirez Guerra, 23, was found buried in a wooded area near Cedarville State Forest, leading to the arrest of her boyfriend Keycy Robinson Alexis Barrera Rosa, 24, and his uncle Rolvin Eduardo Bererra Bererra, 37, both undocumented immigrants from Guatemala.
The investigation began when Barrera Rosa reported Ramirez Guerra missing on April 2, claiming she was last seen on March 31.
Law enforcement agencies conducted an extensive search that culminated in the discovery of her body on April 17, buried in a heavily forested location adjacent to the state park.
Multi-agency investigation reveals disturbing details
Charles County Sheriff's Office collaborated with Prince George's County Police Department throughout the investigation, demonstrating the complexity of the case.
Their joint efforts led to the discovery of crucial evidence linking both suspects to the crime. The investigation's findings prompted authorities to issue an arrest warrant for Barrera Rosa, who now faces murder charges.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials revealed that both suspects had entered the United States through El Paso, Texas, in April 2019.
Upon entry, they received Notices to Appear before a federal immigration judge. These legal proceedings were still pending at the time of their arrest.
Charles County Sheriff Troy Berry addressed the tragic outcome of the investigation in an official statement.
His words reflected the impact of the case on both law enforcement and the community:
While this was not the ending that we all hoped for, I am grateful to all those who worked so hard to find Ms. Guerra. On behalf of the Charles County Sheriff's Office, I offer our most sincere condolences to all of her family and friends.
Legal proceedings and custody arrangements unfold
Current legal proceedings have placed the two suspects in separate detention facilities. Barrera Rosa remains in ICE custody in Virginia, awaiting extradition to Charles County to face murder charges.
His uncle, Bererra Bererra, faces charges as an accessory to murder and is currently held without bond at the Charles County Detention Center.
The case has drawn attention to the intersection of immigration enforcement and criminal justice procedures. Local authorities are working closely with federal agencies to ensure the proper handling of both criminal charges and immigration matters. The complexity of jurisdictional issues requires careful coordination between multiple law enforcement entities.
These developments have prompted discussions about the effectiveness of the current immigration notification system.
Questions arise about the monitoring of individuals who receive Notices to Appear and the timeframe between their entry and scheduled court dates.
Investigation outcome and next steps
Lesbia Mileth Ramirez Guerra's death has left two children without their mother and a community seeking answers. The Charles County Sheriff's Office, working alongside Prince George's County Police Department, successfully located her body and identified the suspects allegedly responsible for her death.
Keycy Robinson Alexis Barrera Rosa faces murder charges and awaits extradition from Virginia to Maryland, while his uncle Rolvin Eduardo Bererra Bererra remains in custody at Charles County Detention Center as an accessory to the crime.
Both suspects' immigration status and previous entry through El Paso in 2019 have become central elements in the ongoing investigation.
