NFL Fans Outraged As Simone Biles Wears Packers Jacket At Bears Game

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles faced backlash from NFL fans after wearing a jacket featuring Green Bay Packers logos while cheering for her husband, Jonathan Owens, at a Chicago Bears preseason game.

The incident occurred during the Bears' matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals at Soldier Field on Saturday.

According to the Daily Mail, Biles was spotted on the sidelines wearing an oversized jacket with black and white photos of Owens printed on it.

However, the images showed Owens in action for the Packers, his former team, and the Bears' longtime rivals. To make matters worse, a prominent Packers logo was visible on the jacket's shoulder pad.

Fans Express Outrage Over Biles' Fashion Choice

NFL fans took to social media to express their displeasure with Biles' attire. Some went as far as suggesting that she should be stripped of her Olympic medals for the perceived faux pas.

One social media user posted on X (formerly Twitter):

Simone Biles should be stripped of all her medals after wearing Packers gear while cheering for the Bears. Yeah yeah I get it, her husband played for the packers and it's an Owens themed jacket, but this is just wrong.

Others questioned Biles' awareness of the intense rivalry between the Bears and Packers. Another fan commented, "With all due respect, Simone Biles gotta throw that jacket in the trash ASAP. How did she get in with that?"

Biles' Appearance At The Bears Game

Despite the controversy surrounding her jacket, Biles was at the game to support her husband, Jonathan Owens, who recently signed with the Bears.

The Olympic gymnast was also seen sporting a protective boot on her left foot, reportedly due to a calf injury sustained during the recent Olympics in Paris.

Biles completed her game-day outfit with reflective silver shades, a black Prada bucket hat, and a Balenciaga purse.

Her presence at the game came shortly after her impressive performance at the Olympics, where she secured three gold medals and one silver.

The Athletic's Chase Daniel offered a more balanced perspective on the situation:

She's obviously supporting her husband Jonathan Owens and she's one of the greatest Olympians so she gets a pass...but it's still one of the oldest rivalries in all of football & she's rocking #GoPackGo logos lol.

Owens' Move From Packers To Bears

Jonathan Owens played for the Green Bay Packers last season before signing a two-year deal with the Chicago Bears in March. The contract is reportedly worth $4.5 million.

Biles had initially celebrated her husband's move to Chicago, expressing excitement about not having to take connecting flights to see him.

Owens appears to have settled well into his new role with the Bears. The team even allowed him five days off from preseason training to travel to Paris and watch Biles compete in the Olympics.

Biles And Owens' Relationship

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens met on the celebrity dating app Raya in 2020. At that time, Biles was already a four-time Olympic gold medalist and considered one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. The couple got engaged in 2022 and married in April of the following year.

In conclusion, Simone Biles' choice of attire at a Chicago Bears preseason game sparked controversy among NFL fans. The Olympic gymnast wore a jacket featuring Green Bay Packers logos while supporting her husband, Jonathan Owens, who recently signed with the Bears.

Fans expressed their disapproval on social media, with some jokingly suggesting she should lose her Olympic medals. Despite the backlash, Biles was present to cheer on Owens as he began his new chapter with the Bears.
