Oklahoma Pastor Charged After Daughter Accuses Him of Incest And Abuse

In a shocking development, Tulsa pastor Bertheophilus Maurice "Judge" Bailey Sr. has resigned after being accused by his daughter of severe child sex abuse and incest.

According to Blaze Media, the reverend allegedly began abusing her when she was just in sixth grade, leading to multiple criminal charges including incest and rape.

Bertheophilus Maurice "Judge" Bailey Sr., who previously led the congregation at St. Andrew Christian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been embroiled in a scandal following his daughter Harmony Oates' accusations of prolonged sexual and mental abuse. According to Oates, the abuse began in her sixth-grade year, initially under the pretense of spiritual guidance and prayer.

Oates described how what started as prayers turned into inappropriate touching by her father, who was a respected figure in the church and community. Over the years, this alleged abuse escalated in severity. The disturbing pattern, Oates recounted, was masked by Bailey’s facade of fatherly affection and spiritual leadership.

Harmony Oates Speaks Out on Disturbing Abuse

“I would call him my best friend only to hide the reality of what I was living,” explained Oates. She stated that disassociating her father from his actions became her coping mechanism during her childhood, enabling her to endure the ongoing trauma.

The gravity of the situation emerged when Oates decided to publicly confront and reveal the abuse inflicted by her father. She emphasized the importance of bringing these issues to light, not just for her healing, but to protect others from similar hidden predations. “As a victim of sexual and mental abuse at the hands of Pastor Bailey for over a decade, I feel compelled to warn others about his predatory behavior,” Oates expressed.

Law enforcement took swift action following these allegations. Bailey was arrested on a Wednesday afternoon, facing multiple charges including incest, child sex abuse, forcible sodomy, first-degree burglary, and two counts of first-degree rape. He is currently detained with a bond set at $500,000.

Legal Evidence Supports Accusations Against Pastor

Investigators have gathered substantial evidence backing Oates’ claims. Among the evidence are text messages and recordings where Bailey himself appears to admit to his crimes. In one such message, he reportedly confesses, “I am an adulterer. I am a child molester. I am a rapist.” These self-incriminating words have bolstered the case against him, shedding light on the grim reality of his actions.

The shockwaves of these revelations have rippled through the St. Andrew Christian Church community. Despite his resignation, Bailey remained listed as the pastor on the church website as of the latest updates, indicating a lag in administrative response to the scandal.

For Oates, speaking out against her father is not just an act of accusation but of self-liberation. “Coming out of the darkness by speaking out makes you a survivor,” she mentioned, reaffirming her role as an active survivor rather than a passive victim.

Victim’s Journey to Healing and Faith

Amid the turmoil, Oates has found solace and guidance in her faith, fostering renewed spiritual resilience. “I'm learning more and I know he has me and he has every other victim. And I know that he has been guiding me through this whole journey and I know he will come for me like a father even though my dad did not,” she reflected.

This case highlights a profound betrayal of familial bonds and communal trust in a spiritual leader, underscoring the need for vigilance and accountability in relationships, especially those involving authority.

Oates's courageous confrontation of her past shines a light on the power of truth and resilience, offering hope to others suffering in silence and sparking critical conversations about abuse, deceit, and recovery in the shadow of faith.
