Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson enjoy dinner out in Jupiter after putting wedding plans on hold

Donald Trump Jr. and fiancée Bettina Anderson were seen dining together at Arthur & Sons in Jupiter, Florida, on Friday night, just days after reports surfaced that the couple had decided to delay their wedding amid ongoing global tensions.

The evening out came three days after Page Six reported exclusively that the pair were pressing pause on their plans to walk down the aisle. The couple, who got engaged at Camp David on December 13 after about a year of dating, had been expected to marry within a few months.

Instead, unnamed sources told Page Six, they are waiting for the conflict in Iran to end before setting a firm date. One source said the couple was aware that a lavish White House wedding "while people are dying wouldn't be well-received" and that they wanted to "make sure the timing is right politically."

A deliberate pause, not a split

Nothing about Friday's dinner suggested trouble. Trump Jr., 48, and Anderson, 39, ordered Chef Joe Isidori's Old School Sunday Gravy at the Italian restaurant, and the outing appeared relaxed. The delay in wedding plans, as described by sources, reflects a conscious decision about optics, not a rift in the relationship.

That distinction matters. The couple's engagement drew broad public attention when President Trump himself announced it at a White House Christmas reception in December. Newsmax reported that a spokesperson for Trump Jr. confirmed the engagement to Anderson, a Palm Beach socialite, and that the president shared the news at a holiday party.

Trump Jr. was candid about the moment. "I'm not usually at a loss for words, because I'm usually doing the ranting and raving pretty well, but I want to thank Bettina for that one word: 'Yes,'" he said in a video of the White House announcement.

Anderson was equally direct. "This has been the most unforgettable weekend," she said. "I get to marry the love of my life, and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world."

From Camp David proposal to Mar-a-Lago bridal shower

The relationship moved quickly by any standard. Page Six broke the engagement news after Trump Jr. proposed at Camp David in Maryland on December 13, following roughly one year of dating. Breitbart's Matthew Boyle reported the engagement in a post on X, noting that the president made the announcement at a White House Christmas Party.

As we previously covered, the wedding delay appears tied to global developments rather than any personal disagreement between the couple.

Last month, Anderson celebrated her bridal shower at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. The "Enchanted Garden"-themed luncheon drew members of the Trump family, including Ivanka Trump, Ivanka's daughter Arabella Kushner, Lara Trump, and Tiffany Trump. Anderson posted about the event on Instagram afterward.

"Still soaking in how beautiful and special Sunday was. To be surrounded by so many women I love and admire, and feel so grateful to have in my corner, meant more than I can say. @donaldjtrumpjr I cannot wait to marry you!"

A source also told Page Six that Trump Jr. was "fully supportive" of both the bridal shower and a bachelorette party. The preparations were already well underway before the couple decided to hit pause.

Background on the relationship

This will be Trump Jr.'s second marriage. He shares five children with ex-wife Vanessa Trump. Before dating Anderson, he was engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle. The New York Post reported that the split from Guilfoyle came shortly before he began seeing Anderson, and the engagement announcement followed about a year later at the White House Christmas reception.

The Trump family has remained in the public eye for reasons well beyond politics. Melania Trump recently addressed media scrutiny in a White House speech, and younger members of the family have drawn attention in their own right.

Guilfoyle, for her part, has moved on professionally. The Washington Examiner reported that she appeared at a Senate confirmation hearing for U.S. ambassador to Greece, with a source close to the former couple saying the breakup "had nothing to do with her personal relationship with Don." The timeline of their split coincided with photos surfacing of Trump Jr. and Anderson together.

Meanwhile, other Trump family members have been making headlines of their own. Barron Trump's venture into the beverage industry with a yerba mate startup has generated its own share of coverage.

A question of timing, not commitment

The decision to delay a wedding over foreign-policy considerations is unusual for most American families. It is less unusual for a family whose patriarch occupies the Oval Office. A White House wedding, or anything close to one, carries symbolic weight that private ceremonies do not. The couple's sources framed the delay in exactly those terms: a matter of public perception during a period of armed conflict abroad.

Whether that calculation reflects genuine sensitivity or political caution, the result is the same. The engagement stands. The bridal shower happened. The couple dined together Friday night at an Italian restaurant in South Florida, ordering the house gravy.

The broader Trump family has faced no shortage of media fascination, from online dust-ups about the president's children to constant tabloid coverage of personal milestones. Through it all, the family has shown a consistent willingness to live publicly, and to make decisions about personal events with an eye toward the political calendar.

Page Six previously reported the couple was expected to wed "within the next few months." That timeline is now open-ended, contingent on developments in Iran that neither the bride nor the groom controls.

Sometimes the most telling thing about a delayed wedding is what didn't change. The ring is still on. The dinner still happened. The only thing on hold is the date, and the reason says more about the weight of the office than about the couple sitting across the table.
