Lack of Support for Harris from Obama, Pelosi Revealed by Democrat Donor

In a revealing interview with "CUOMO," John Morgan, a Democratic megadonor, shed light on internal opposition within the Democratic Party to Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential candidacy.

Morgan criticized the selection process that led to Harris's nomination, citing a lack of real support from important Democratic Party figures and accusing the campaign of financial mismanagement, as News Nation reports.

Beginnings of Biden's Withdrawal, Harris's Nomination

According to Morgan, the process began when President Joe Biden decided to withdraw from the presidential race in July, under significant pressure from senior Democrats.

Shortly after his withdrawal, Biden endorsed Kamala Harris as his preferred successor, which Morgan interpreted as an act of defiance against certain Democratic Party leaders.

Morgan detailed that after Biden's endorsement, it took five days for former President Barack Obama to publicly support Harris on his social media platform, X.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi showed reluctance as well, according to Morgan, pointing to a broader lack of consensus among the top echelons of the party.

Discontent with the Nomination Process

Morgan accused the Democratic Party of straying from democratic norms despite prior promises. He cited an incident where Pelosi assured her California delegation that traditional processes such as the conference, caucus, and convention would be followed.

However, Harris was nominated without the usual primary or caucus process, directly by Biden, leading to discontent and accusations of a bypassed democratic process.

"Pelosi told her California delegation, there will be a conference, there will be a caucus, there will be a convention," Morgan narrated. "We ran on this deal where ‘democracy, democracy!’ And then we didn’t have democracy in picking our nominee."

Financial Mismanagement and Campaign Debts

Criticism of the Harris campaign did not stop at the nomination process. Morgan highlighted the campaign's significant debt, which he cited as $20 million, a reflection of what he termed financial irresponsibility. This financial mismanagement, according to Morgan, should disqualify Harris from future presidential considerations.

"The same thing is going to follow Harris for the rest of her career. She cannot be trusted with the money, and the donors are going to be, like, ‘Where is this money?'" Morgan expressed concern about the ongoing financial handling within the campaign.

Questions on Harris's Electoral Viability

Morgan also commented on Harris's ability to face a national electorate, especially in the light of her debate performance against President-elect Donald Trump.

Despite a vigorous presentation, he believed her earlier performances on the national stage did not demonstrate capability enough to challenge the Republican party effectively.

"We already saw what she looked like on the national stage," Morgan stated. “But she was not ready for prime time, and then they rolled her out in prime time, and she got destroyed."

Internal Conflicts and DNC's Financial Confusions

Lindy Li from the DNC finance committee also noted internal conflicts and financial confusion within the party, which had led to staff departures, complicating the electoral landscape for the Democrats. Meanwhile, the Harris campaign officially denied any allegations regarding outstanding debts.

These internal rifts and financial issues within the Harris campaign and the broader Democratic Party have illuminated significant challenges as the party moves forward, suggesting a period of introspection and potential reorganization might be needed.

Conclusion: Ongoing Challenges for Democratic Party

In summary, John Morgan's remarks not only highlighted deep-seated divisions within the Democratic Party but also brought to the forefront issues of governance, transparency, and financial management that could influence its future trajectory.

As the party grapples with these internal challenges, the road to unity appears fraught with obstacles that require immediate attention.
