The University of North Carolina community mourns the loss of Tylee Craft, a promising star on the football field, who succumbed to a rare form of lung cancer at the age of 23.

Craft, a college football standout, passed away following a valiant two-and-a-half-year fight with cancer, leaving a legacy of resilience and inspiration, as the Daily Caller reports.

Tylee's journey with the Tar Heels began with promising early performances. As a freshman in 2020, he made appearances in seven games, showcasing his potential as a wide receiver.

His talent was unmistakable, with ESPN ranking him as the seventh-best player in the state and the 60th nationally amongst wide receivers.

However, Tylee's burgeoning career was cut short by his diagnosis, leading him to miss the entire 2022 and 2023 seasons. Despite this, his spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to positively influence his team both on and off the field.

On Saturday, the Tar Heels faced off against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in what was termed the "Cancer Awareness Game," dedicated to Tylee.
